The Baltimore Sun reports that Maryland politician Dereck Davis is drafting a bill to ban flavors as a natural extension to his crack down on vaping products. Davis sponsored the Tobacco 21 law that went into effect for Maryland at the beginning of the month and chairs the House of Delegates Economic Matters Committee.
“I’m told that it has a harsh taste and it irritates the back of the throat and if you go with these flavors, it’s not as difficult,” said Davis.
Governor Larry Hogan’s administration is also exploring options it can take, as well. The state must ensure whatever actions it takes are legally sound to avoid a court challenge.
